In response to this pressing need for industry standards and consumer protection, AFEIC proactively initiated the comprehensive registration of legitimate foreign education and immigration consultants throughout Pakistan beginning in 2014. This initiative represents our unwavering commitment to establishing transparency, accountability, and professionalism within an industry fundamental to Pakistan’s future human capital development, ensuring that aspirational students receive guidance based on integrity, accurate information, and genuine concern for their educational and professional advancement in the global arena. Pakistan represents a vast and dynamic market with a burgeoning population of individuals aspiring for international educational opportunities. Within this thriving landscape, over 2,000 foreign education and immigration consultants currently operate, providing guidance to prospective students and migrants seeking optimal global pathways tailored to their unique aspirations and circumstances. As this sector experienced unprecedented growth and demand reached peak levels, concerning issues emerged regarding fraudulent practices and deliberate misinformation. Vulnerable students and migration aspirants increasingly fell victim to unscrupulous operators masquerading as professional consultants, individuals motivated solely by financial gain rather than ethical service provision. These self-proclaimed consultants, through their malicious activities and profound lack of understanding regarding international immigration regulations, systematically exploited clients while prioritizing personal profit through any means available. Recognizing the severity of this concerning trend and the absence of protective mechanisms, AFEIC emerged as a pioneering platform dedicated to supporting students who had suffered from such fraudulent activities. Despite the critical nature of this issue, the Government of Pakistan had not yet formalized or regulated this profession through appropriate legislation, leaving a significant regulatory gap regarding the fraudulent activities perpetrated by these pseudo-education and immigration consultants.
